A Tinley Park man will spend the next two years on probation for having sex with a 13-year-old girl he met at a local roller rink, court records show.
David J. Potter, 20, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse Wednesday. In addition to the probation, Will County Judge Daniel Rozak ordered Potter to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Police said Potter met his victim over the summer, and they had consensual sex in October at a Mokena park.
Her parents learned about the encounter in November and called police. Will County state’s attorney spokesman Chuck Pelkie said they wanted to avoid a trial and supported Wednesday’s plea agreement.
