Correctional center inmate dies

A 37-year-old inmate died early Wednesday after he was found unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in the Loop.
The man was found unresponsive in his cell at the facility – designed to house Federal prisoners – at 71 W. Van Buren St., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
He was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 12:08 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
The man, 37, remained unidentified Wednesday morning because his family had not been notified.
