Those thinking a person only hits the big jackpot once should meet Scott Anetsberger.
The Lombard resident won a $1 million grand prize from the Illinois Lottery for the second time in less than a decade.
Anetsberger bought the winning ticket at J&P Food in Villa Park. He is the first to claim one of the three grand prizes, Illinois Lottery officials announced Tuesday.
“I won $1 million about nine years ago from the Merry Millionaire game,” Anetsberger told the state lottery.
He said he plans on using his winnings to pay bills and send his two younger children to college.
J&P Food received a $6,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, according to the Illinois Lottery.
“He’s a regular at our store and we’re happy that he won,” store manager Pranav Patel said.
