FBI: West suburban pimp forced teen into prostitution

A cash-strapped teenage girl fell under the control of a west suburban pimp who forced her to perform sex acts for more than three months until her mother filed a missing persons report and later rescued her, according to the FBI.

McKenzie J. Carson, the alleged pimp, was charged Tuesday in federal court with sex trafficking of a minor.

Carson, of Bolingbrook, was nicknamed “Casino” by those who worked for him, according to an FBI affidavit to search his home. He advertised females — including juveniles — on the Internet and drove them to sex jobs at hotels and other places, the FBI alleges.

The FBI searched Carson’s vehicle and recovered a computer that contained photos of the 17-year-old girl and other women in a folder with the heading “hoes,” the affidavit said.

In November 2009, the girl told an unidentified man at her apartment complex that she was having financial problems, the affidavit said.

The man took the teen to a Motel 6 in Joliet where she met Carson, the affidavit said. When she told Carson she was just 17, he allegedly said, “That don’t matter.”

Carson allegedly raped the teenager in a motel room and forced her to start working for him as a prostitute, according to the FBI. Carson allegedly threatened to kill her if she didn’t keep working for him, the FBI said.

Toward the end of February 2010, the girl’s mother filed a missing persons report for her with the police, the FBI said.

The girl found out about it and told Carson, who initially took a battery from her cell phone and left her in a motel room without a way to contact anyone or leave, according to the FBI.

Later, he said he would let her go as long as she gave him all the money she made performing sex acts, which she did, the FBI said. Carson allegedly returned the phone to her, and she called her mother, who picked her up at the motel.

Police have identified at least five other women who had worked for Carson as prostitutes, according to the FBI.

Carson was scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Young B. Kim Tuesday.
