May 11, 2008

Chicago Police are searching for a missing 8-year-old girl and her mother who were last seen Thursday.

Janasia Grant disappeared after she was picked up from school by her mother, 38-year-old Felicia "Shawn" Lomax, Thursday in the 6100 block of North Fairfield. Police said Lomax does not have legal custody of her daughter.

Janasia weighs 70 pounds and wore a brown shirt, brown pants, a red coat and white Air Max gym shoes. Lomax is 5-foot-5 and weighs 140 pounds, police said.

The two may be in the area of the 3500 block of South Rhodes, the 2800 block of West Wilcox or the 600 block of West Division near Cabrini-Green. They may also be riding trains or CTA buses, authorities said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Belmont Area Special Victims Unit detectives at (312) 744-8266.
