Pedestrian struck by vehicle in Loop

May 8, 2008

A pedestrian was seriously injured Thursday morning after being hit by an auto in the Loop.

A person was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of East Upper Wacker Drive and North Michigan Avenue at 10:47 a.m., according to Central District police Sgt. Bowden.

The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, according to Fire Media Affairs.

The injuries are not life-threatening, according to Bowden.

Police were still on the scene as of 12:30 p.m. working to determine how the accident happened, Bowden said.
