Woman, 93, struck by Loyola University shuttle bus on North Side

An elderly woman is in critical condition after being struck by a Loyola University Chicago shuttle bus Monday morning in the North Side Edgewater neighborhood.

The 93-year-old woman was struck by the bus about 10:08 a.m. in the 5600 block of North Sheridan, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

She was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, Fire Media Affairs Dir. Larry Langford said.

Police said the bus stayed at the scene but information on citations was not yet available.

Loyola University Chicago spokeswoman Maeve Kiley confirmed the bus was a Loyola shuttle heading from the Water Tower campus to the university’s Rogers Park campus.
