Car hits deer on Bishop Ford

A woman driving a Pontiac was not hurt when the car hit a deer on the Bishop Ford Freeway near south suburban Dolton Wednesday morning.
About 4 a.m., the woman was behind the wheel of a Pontiac and was traveling south on the Bishop Ford at 138th Street near the steel bridge when the car hit a deer, said Illinois State Police District Chicago Trooper Joe Rokowski.
“She hit the deer in the right lane and she went right on the shoulder,’’ said Rokowski. The driver was not hurt and was not issued citations.
The incident did not impact other motorists, according to the trooper.
It was not immediately known if the deer was killed but the Illinois Department of Transportation was contacted for assistance with the animal, the trooper said.
