A man is suing a Frankfort motel, claiming his room was infested with bed bugs when he stayed there two years ago, but the motel’s manager said Friday the lawsuit is “all bogus.”
The suit, filed this week in Will County, said Richard Delaney stayed at the Abe Lincoln Motel in August 2009. While he was there, he noticed “scabs, red spots and wounds forming on his body.”
Delaney later noticed “dozens of insects and bugs crawling” on his bed, the suit said.
Karen Gasser, the motel’s general manager, said Friday the building is sprayed and inspected every month. She said bed bugs have never been found there.
And she said Delaney had an animal “infested with fleas” and didn’t clean his room while he stayed there. She said whatever ailed him must have been caught outside the motel.
“He’s not getting a dime,” Gasser said.
