Two Metra trains have been stopped after a pedestrian was struck by a train Friday afternoon near west suburban Naperville.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Train 1272 struck a pedestrian about 4:05 p.m. just east of the Naperville station, according to Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile.

The train, scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 4:55 p.m., is stopped near Lisle due to the incident, the advisory said.

BNSF Train 1241, scheduled to arrive in Aurora at 4:40 p.m., will not operate past Downers Grove’s Main Street station Friday night due to the incident, according to a Metra service advisory.

The train will travel inbound to Chicago, accommodating passengers at all intermediate stations between Downers Grove and western Avenue.
