Two motorists were injured when a taxi cab and an SUV crashed Tuesday morning in the Loop, causing the SUV to careen into a Dunkin’ Donuts.
At 5:44 a.m. the taxi cab and SUV collided near the intersection of South Wells and West Adams, Chicago Police Spokesman Robert Perez said.
The SUV then crashed into the front entrance of a Dunkin’ Donuts, 211 W. Adams, where it became stuck, Perez said.
Both drivers were injured in the crash and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition, Perez said. At least one employee was in the store — which was open at the time of the crash — but no one else was reported injured, he said.
Officials are investigating what caused the crash, Perez said. No citations or charges had been issued in connection with the crash as of 1 p.m. Tuesday.
