A 12-year-old sent into a Glenview area pool hall as part of a sheriff’s sting was served beer, authorities alleged Tuesday.
The pre-teen was with a 14-year-old, a 17-year-old and two 18-year-olds when they ordered beer at Premier Billiards & Cafe, 2626 Golf Rd., in an unincorporated area of Cook County, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.
The waitress, who did not card them, served them beer, the sheriff’s office said.
The junior high and high school students were sent into other suburban restaurants as part of a sting last weekend in Leyden, Maine and Wheeling townships. Of the 18 businesses targeted, five sold alcohol to some of the minors as undercover officers watched, the sheriff’s office said.
A worker at Premier Billiards declined to comment Tuesday.
