Man shot to death found at Sauk Village gas station

A 23-year-old man who had apparently suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest was found in a car at a gas station in south suburban Sauk Village Sunday afternoon.
Sauk Village police got a report on Sunday afternoon of a man who might have been dead in a car at the Marathon Gas Station at 1801 E. Sauk Trail Rd. in the south suburb. When they arrived on the scene about 12:50 p.m., they found the man in the rear seat of the car, unconscious and not breathing, according to a release from Sauk Village police.
Police and paramedics discovered that the man had suffered a single gunshot to the chest. A gun was reportedly found at the scene, according to a source.
The man was identified as Robert Broadway, 23, of the 900 block of Park Avenue in Thornton, according to a spokesman for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. He was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:14 p.m.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday to determine the manner of death.
The investigation is being conducted by the Sauk Village Police Department and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force.
