Eight workers at a west suburban factory were hospitalized after an acetone spill early Monday.
Police and fire crews were sent to Grayhill Inc., 541 W. Hillgrove Ave. about 6:39 a.m. after some employees became exposed to acetone following a spill, LaGrange Fire Dept. Capt. Rick Griffin said. The factory makes keypads for electronic devices.
The scene was cleared when fire crews arrived, although firefighters ventilated the area as a precaution, Griffin said.
Eight employees complained of suffering from nausea and dizziness and were taken to Advocate LaGrange Memorial Hospital, Griffin said. None of the injuries appeared to be serious.
