Cousin sues over ‘defamatory message’ on Facebook wall post
A woman has sued her cousin after he allegedly posted a defamatory message about her on his Facebook page.
Angela Matthopoulos claims her cousin, Chris P. Douvris, posted the “false and defamatory message” on Nov. 12, 2010, according to the suit filed Thursday in Cook County Circuit Court.
The suit claims that in the profanity-laced posting on Douvris’ page he said Matthopoulos takes “cheap shots” at people, is “promiscuous” and fixes “papers for illegals as a job.” She said she was greatly injured by statements that accuse her of “committing a crime,” “engaging in fornication” and “lacking integrity in her employment duties.”
The suit seeks more than $50,000 in damages.
