Police are searching for driver in Loop hit-and-run

Police are asking for help in finding the hit-and-run driver who plowed into two women walking on a busy Loop street.

The women, both in their 50s, were hospitalized following the incident Tuesday night in the 100 block of South State Street, officials said. The Secretary of State’s office said the vehicle, an SUV, was last seen southbound on State.

The four-door, silver Mitsubishi Montero Sport with Illinois license plates X76 5013 is registered to a woman in Sauk Village. Police in the south suburb are assisting with the search.
