Man grills McDonald's over raw burger

March 23, 2007

Adam DeMuro became sick after eating an undercooked McDonald's hamburger, but what angered him more was that his pregnant wife could have eaten it instead.

Christy DeMuro, 31, went into labor with the Naperville couple's second child, Lora, early March 15. She was hungry, so she asked her husband to stop at a McDonald's on their way to the hospital.

The pair ordered two Big N' Tasty quarter-pounders, and as they drove away, Adam DeMuro, 31, took two bites before realizing the meat was pink. "It was the rawest hamburger I've ever seen," he said. Christy DeMuro didn't eat the burgers.

Adam DeMuro took the hamburger back to the eatery, at 1520 N. Naper Blvd., where he said the manager admitted it was the "worst he's seen in 15 years."

McDonald's is investigating the incident, a company statement said.
