Ryan local lanes may close by Sunday

If the wet weather lets up --which isn't likely to happen before Sunday -- drivers on the Dan Ryan Expy. can expect new lane closings this weekend and early next week.
By Sunday morning, all but one of the inbound local lanes should be closed to traffic. The outbound express lanes will also be shifted and narrowed.
On Monday morning, only one outbound local lane will be open.
This configuration should remain in place until the middle of next week, when state road crews expect to close all of the local lanes from 31st to 59th until at least fall.
But everything is weather-dependent because the preliminary work involves temperature- and moisture-sensitive pavement striping, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.
