Police cars collide on South Halsted

Two Chicago Police vehicles responding to a call collided

early Saturday on the South Side.The police vehicles were responding to an assist call when

they collided with each other about 12:40 a.m. in the 4700 block of South

Halsted Street, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro, citing

preliminary information.

An unidentified number of officers were taken to area

hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, Alfaro said.

Nobody else was injured, and police are investigating the

incident as a traffic crash.
