No one was injured when a small business jet carrying seven people skidded off the runway as heavy snow fell Monday afternoon at west suburban DuPage Airport.
The plane veered off the taxiway while it was attempting to take off about 2:30 p.m. at DuPage Airport, at 2700 International Dr., said West Chicago Deputy Fire Chief Dennis Keefe.
The small business jet was carrying five passengers and two crew members, including the pilot, Keefe said. No injuries were reported.
Keefe said the pilot likely got disoriented in whiteout conditions.
No damage to the plane was reported, but it needed to be examined before it could fly again, Keefe said. The passengers were taken back to the terminal building where they would wait for a new flight.
A representative from DuPage Airport could not be immediately reached for comment.
