A 22-year-old man died Monday night after he was shot in the bathroom of a restaurant in west suburan Aurora.
The man was shot at least once about 7:34 p.m. Monday at La Torta Carniceria y Taqueria, a restaurant in the 800 block of North Lake Street.
On the scene Monday night, Aurora Police Lt. Pete Inda said the man was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center. He died at the hospital, according to Aurora Police spokesman Dan Ferrelli.
Police said two men apparently fled from the scene, possibly on foot headed eastbound. Police did not yet have a description of the suspects, Inda said.
The restaurant was open at the time of the shooting, according to Inda.
Monday night’s fatal shooting was Aurora’s first homicide of the year.
