A 26-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs in connection with a crash that killed two women Sunday morning on the Eisenhower Expy. in Forest Park.

Aaron I. Moore was charged with two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol resulting in death; two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of drugs resulting in death; and two counts of leaving the scene of a fatal crash, according to Illinois State Police.

About 3:45 a.m. Sunday, a 1998 Ford Windstar van was stalled in the eastbound center lane on Interstate 290 near the First Avenue exit when it was rear-ended by a 2012 Dodge Durango SUV, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.

The van’s driver, Evelette Rivera, 30, and back-seat passenger, Krystle Hernandez, 29, both died on impact, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Rivera, of the 2900 block of North Merrimac Avenue, and Hernandez, of the 3700 block of West Grand Avenue, were both pronounced dead at the scene at 3:55 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.

Moore and a 25-year-old woman who was in the SUV with him were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Illinois State Police.

Moore, of Chicago, is scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday in Maywood.
