Oak Park man faces murder charge in June shooting in Austin

An Oak Park man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death Wednesday of an Austin man who was shot last June as he walked thorugh a park.

Craig Bryan, 23, allegedly followed Keith Sutton as he walked through the park in the 5700 block of West Bloomingdale Avenue around 10:15 a.m. June 2 and shot him in the head and back, police said.

Sutton, 24, of the 1700 block of North Monitor Avenue, died in hospice care at Westlake Community Hospital at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

On Saturday, a judge ordered Bryan held without bail.
