At least eight people were injured in a CTA bus crash Wednesday afternoon in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The crash happened at the intersection of Madison and Homan about noon, authorities said.

Two vehicles crashed and one of the vehicles hit the front bumper of the northbound No. 82 Kimball bus, which was stopped at a bus stop, CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski said.

Eight people, all in stable condition, were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, Norwegian-American Hospital and Rush University Medical Center, according to Fire Media Affairs. One person was in serious condition, six were in fair condition and one was in good condition.

Nine people suffered minor injuries, Hosinski said, adding the bus driver was not injured.

Madison was closed between Central Park and Spaulding after the crash, police said.
