Updated: October 7, 2013 9:49AM

A man was hospitalized for smoke inhalation after an Andersonville fire Monday morning on Chicago’s North Side.

Emergency crews were called to the fire in a two-flat building in the 1600 block of West Foster Avenue about 1:50 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines said.

A first-floor resident — a man believed to be in his 30s — was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, Gaines said.

The police Bomb and Arson Unit is investigating the fire.
