A man has died after being shot multiple times Thursday afternoon in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.
The 23-year-old man sitting in a vehicle about 1:30 p.m. in the 3500 block to South Lake Park Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said.
Two males approached and words were exchanged, Gaines said. One of the males began firing and struck the victim in the chest, abdomen, and side
He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in a state of "traumatic arrest," fire officials said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital about 2:01 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
The man has been identified as Zohntil Lemon, 23, according to the medical examiner's office.
