Two men were seriously hurt when a sport-utility vehicle hit them and then crashed through the front window of a South Side restaurant.
They were standing outside in the 1900 block of East 95th Street around 1:30 a.m. Saturday when the SUV knocked them into the front window of RJ Sandwich Fish and Chicken, Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The SUV then took off, Alfaro said.
Police said the driver argued with one of the injured men before the crash but could not provide details. The restaurant was heavily damaged. The front window and door were smashed, and bricks from the corner and side wall of the structure were left scattered across the front sidewalk.
The injured were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition, Alfaro said.
