A camcorder battery caused a small fire on a plane that landed safely at O’Hare Airport on Thursday night.
The American Airlines flight from Chicago to St. Louis returned to O’Hare airport about 8 p.m. Thursday because of light smoke from the fire, according to Fire Media Affairs.
Responding firefighters found a camcorder battery that had shorted out in an overhead compartment and extinguished the fire, the fire department said.
No injuries were reported.
