If you’re running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, you might see Mikey from “The Goonies” jogging next to you.
Actor Sean Astin, who played the asthmatic teen in the 1985 blockbuster, is now 42 and plans to run the Oct. 13 race.
So don’t be alarmed, runners, if you glimpse Rudy Ruettiger from “Rudy,” or Samwise Gamgee from “Lord of the Rings,” or even Dave from “Encino Man” — there are no hallucinogenics in the Gatorade.
On Twitter, where he has more than 86,000 followers, Astin said he may shoot for a 4:20 marathon.
The West Coast native Tweeted Monday: “I had a great 20 mile training run today. I’m ready for the #ChicagoMarathon in a few weeks!!!”
Astin, a supporter of Democratic candidates, hosts a political talk radio show and has several upcoming film projects listed on IMDb.com.
