Chicago Police search the scene after a 14-year-old boy was critically wounded Thursday night in a shooting in the 7700 block of South Homan. The shooting happened outside Sarah E. A 14-year-old boy was critically injured Thursday night in a shooting in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.
He was shot in the back about 7:45 p.m. in the 7700 block of South Homan and taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to Fire Media Affairs.
The shooting happened outside Sarah E. Goode STEM Academy, and officers with flashlights were searching the front landscaping outside the school with Thursday night.
Police could not immediately provide further details.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
