Construction worker pinned, killed by machine in Englewood

A construction worker was killed Thursday afternoon when he was pinned under a machine on the South Side, according to Chicago police and fire officials authorities.
The 42-year-old man became trapped in a paving machine about 12:45 p.m. in the 6200 block of South May Street, part of the city’s Englewood neighborhood, according to the police and fire departments. Police said the man was trapped under a construction crane.
The paving company employee was dead on the scene, said Chicago Police Officer John Mirabelli, a department spokesman. Firefighters were trying to remove the man’s body from under the machine as of 1:45 p.m., authorities said.
The Cook County medical exmainer’s office confirmed the fatality.
