Rollover crash on LSD temporarily closes lanes

A two-vehicle rollover crash shut down the southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive for a little over an hour early Wednesday.

A male driving a white sedan at a “high rate of speed” southbound on Lake Shore Drive near 35th Street hit a red SUV, causing the SUV to roll over onto its roof about 3:20 a.m., police said.

The driver of the sedan then hit a light pole before stopping on an embankment, police said.

Police said both drivers refused medical attention after the crash.

The southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive were shut down for a little over an hour early Wednesday, but were back open as of 4:30 a.m.

No citations had been filed early Wednesday.
