Mother charged in son’s stabbing death in Sauk Village

A mother was charged with fatally stabbing her 17-year-old son in his Sauk Village home, officials said.
Robin Erwin, 31, was charged with first degree murder for allegedly stabbing Diontae Erwin,to death on Sept. 7, Sauk Village police said in a statement.
Diontae Erwin was stabbed at his home in the 1700 block of East 223rd Street, according to the Lake County (Ind.) Coroner’s office.
He was pronounced dead at 12:41 p.m. at Franciscan St. Margaret Health in Dyer, Ind., the coroner’s office said. His death was ruled a homicide.
In the case, Larry Gray, 21, was also charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and violating parole, police said. Officers also seized about 130 grams of cannabis from the home.
