Passenger killed in crash that shuts down northbound Illinois 394

A male passenger was killed in a crash on Illinois 394 in south suburban Crete on Sunday night, Illinois State Police said.
The single-vehicle crash happened about 10:30 p.m. on northbound Illinois 394 near Cottage Grove Avenue, near Balmoral Park horse racing track, a District 5 trooper said.
The age and identity of the victim and further details about the crash were not available.
All northbound lanes of Illinois 394 were closed at Cottage Grove Avenue for several hours, state police said.
