The National Weather Service is expecting “life-threatening” rip currents along the shores of Lake Michigan until Tuesday evening.
Waves as tall as 7 feet also are expected by Monday morning, according to the weather service.
“Dangerous pounding waves and life-threatening rip currents are expected at many of the Illinois and Indiana beaches,” the weather service said.
The winds and waves are expected to subside by Monday evening.
