3 dead, 14 wounded in shootings across Chicago since Friday

Three men have been killed and 14 others wounded in gun violence across Chicago since Friday night.

The latest fatality happened Saturday in Bronzeville. Around 6:15 p.m., a 26-year-old man was mortally wounded and a second man, in his 40s, was wounded in gunfire in the 2900 block of South State Street, police said.

The younger man died at Stroger Hospital, and the other man was in critical condition, authorities said.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday in South Chicago, Jacoby Herron, 21, was shot multiple times and killed in the 2400 block of East 79th Street.Earlier, just after 8 p.m. Friday in Woodlawn, Kenneth Barbour, 18, was shot while arguing with someone in the 500 block of East 68th Street. Barbour, of the 1600 block of East 85th Street, died hours later at Stroger Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
