A Harvey man has been accused of cleaning up the blood of a 38-year-old murder victim found shot to death last April in a Cook County forest preserve near Blue Island.
Christopher Chandler, 22, of the 15000 block of Hoyne in Harvey, is charged with obstructing justice and concealment of a homicidal death. Prosecutors said he cleaned up the blood of Eddie Bell with water and bleach inside a home in the 14000 block of Hoyne, where Bell was allegedly murdered.
Bell’s body was found decomposed in a forested area near 13800 Thornton Road on April 16. Brandon Johnson, 27, and Lester Larkin, 25, have been charged with Bell’s murder, according to the Cook County Sheriff.
Derrick Reese, Chandler’s defense attorney, said his client was forced to clean up the scene. Cook County Judge Laura Sullivan set Chandler’s bail at $40,000.
