GARY, Ind. — Three men were shot to death in the street early Sunday morning in Gary.
Antonio Dove, 27; Michael Andrews, 34, of Gary, and Briean Jiles, 22, of Gary, were found in the street in front of 5810 13th Place about 1 a.m. Sunday.
Gary Police found the men dead at the scene when they responded to a call of shots fired, Cpl. Gabrielle King said. The Lake County Coroner’s Office said all three suffered multiple gunshot wounds. A 19-year-old man was wounded in the shooting, but his injuries weren’t life-threatening, King said. The men who were killed have had previous run-ins with the law.
In April, Dove was taken into custody after he was involved in a police chase that involved a head-on collision with another police car. In June 2010, Dove awas shot in his front yard. Dove was charged with kidnapping and aggravated battery in 2005 but the charges were dismissed.
Jiles had an active case of attempted murder pending in Lake County, dating from a shooting at an apartment complex in January 2012.
Andrews has faced forgery and robbery charges in the past few years.
Andrews’ aunt, who asked not to be identified, said the shooting took place across the street from Andrews’ mother’s house. The aunt said she didn’t feel up to talking because she said three relatives had been killed in the past four months. She declined to elaborate.
Police did not have anyone in custody, and detectives were investigating.
