At least three people were wounded and a man died after a shooting on the Northwest Side, officials said.
The shooting, which included a 17-year-old female who was wounded on the side of her head, was around 7:50 p.m. on the 2900 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue, officials said.
Fire department officials said there were five victims in the shooting, while police reported four.
A 21-year-old man died in the shooting, police said. A 30-year-old man shot in the back and a 28-year-old man shot in the arm and side, police said.
According to neighbors, a crowd of people were standing on a porch on the home just before the shots were fired.
The shooter or shooters apparently started firing at the porch then chased people inside the house, according to one neighbor.
Two to three families lived in the brick bungalow, according to neighbors. Some neighbors had considered reporting that the home might have been overcrowded situation but never did.
Neighbors said crying children were taken from the home after the shooting.
“Police pulled a lot of children out of there, some of them were crying and carrying bags of their belongings,” said neighbor Nelson Mojica, who had heard six to 10 shots.
“It sounded like fireworks,” said his wife Danielle Mojica.
In other shootings, another man was killed and at least five other people were wounded since Friday evening in the city.
