A memorial is being planned at a Romeoville roller rink Friday for the victims of a triple murder-suicide in unincorporated Downers Grove.
Jeana Andrus, 48, worked for years at USA Skate Center in Romeoville, owner Stephen Turner said. Now he said a small service open to the public is being planned for Friday by some of her daughter’s friends.
Police have said David Andrus shot Jeana and their two daughters in their home before shooting himself Tuesday. Sources said he’d been fired abruptly from his job in Willowbrook.
Jennifer Andrus, 16, “basically grew up in the rink” while her mother was working there, Turner has said. Now her friends plan to remember Jeana, Jennifer and Jessica Andrus, 22, around 8:15 p.m. Friday.
Part of the proceeds made at the roller-skating rink Friday, Saturday and Monday will also go to the funeral home managing arrangements for the Andrus family, Turner said. Those arrangements weren’t immediately available.
