Suspect arrested after shootout with police in West Pullman

One person was in custody late Monday after Chicago Police came under fire while responding to a gunfight in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.
The incident happened about 8:30 p.m. in the 11800 block of South Princeton, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
Gunshots were fired at and by police during the confrontation, but no one was hurt, Greer said.
Fraternal Order of Police spokesman Pat Camden said suspects shot at police after officers after responded to a call of shots fired, and they found a several people involved in a gunfight.
One male suspect turned and pointed a weapon at police while running away, Camden said. Police chased and shot at him but didn’t hit him.
He was in custody and charges were pending, authorities said. Area South detectives were investigating.
