A man was killed after he was struck by a taxi late Monday on the Southwest Side, authorities said.
Police said that about 11:30 p.m. the man was crossing South Cicero Avenue, near West 52nd Street, when a southbound cab struck him. He was unresponsive at the scene and was not taken to a hospital, police said.
The man, believed to have been in his 50s, was not crossing the street at a crosswalk, police said.
An official for the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed that the man was killed in the accident, but did not identify him, pending notification of family.
