Englewood man dies 3 years after gunshot to head

An Englewood man died early Tuesday of complications from a gunshot wound he suffered nearly three years ago, authorities said.
Alfred Wilson, 59, of the 7100 block of South May Street, was pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. at Saint Bernard Hospital and Health Care Center, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Belden was shot in the 7100 block of South May Street on June 5, 2010, according to Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan. Police responded to a call of a person shot and found Wilson with a gunshot would to the back of his head.
A person was taken into custody in relation to the shooting but was released without charges, Sullivan said.
No further information was immediately available.
