A 48-year-old Evanston man arrested after trying to sell goods on a CTA Red Line train was carrying two Tasers, police said.

Jeffrey Pittman was seen crossing between train cars on the Red Line at 35th Street, soliciting business on CTA property about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, a release from police said.

He was arrested and found to have two Taser stun guns, police said. Police said Friday it was unclear if he was trying to sell the Tasers on the train.

Pittman, of the 200 block of West Grey Street in Evanston, was charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, police said. He also was cited for ordinance violations of unsafe conduct/crossing between cars and solicitation/selling on CTA property.

Bond information was not immediately available.
