Man fatally hit by vehicle outside Summit home

A Summit man died Monday after a vehicle hit him outside his southwest suburban home.
Salafiel Mendoza, 47, was outside his home in the 7200 block of West 61st Place when the vehicle crashed into him, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:55 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
Summit Police could not immediately be reached for comment.
