The state Department of Children and Family Services is investigating the death of a 4-month-old boy Saturday in Harvey.
The baby was pronounced dead at 6:59 a.m. at his home in the south suburb, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
DCFS was investigating allegations of neglect against the father, department spokesman Dave Clarkin said.
There were no other children in the home and DCFS has had no previous contact with the family, Clarkin said.
A Sunday autopsy was inconclusive pending further studies, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Harvey Police were conducting a death investigation, department spokeswoman Sandra Alvarado said.
