Elgin woman, son charged over gun fired into the air

An Elgin woman and her teenage son were arrested when she allegedly fired a gun into the air.
Police were called at 3:30 p.m. Friday about the fired weapon in the Poplar Creek subdivision in the 1000 block of Peachtree Lane, Elgin police said.
Twana Mosley, 35, heard about an earlier fight involving members of her extended family and went outside with two handguns and confronted someone from the earlier fight and fired once into the air, according to the police, who seized three handguns and two rifles in a search of Mosley’s home.
Mosley’s 14-year-old son brought two rifles outside to his mother, the police said.
They arrested Mosley and her son. She was charged with two felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm and not having a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Program card. He was charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and not having a valid FOID card.
