Police search Des Plaines River in Maywood for body of 1-year-old boy

Maywood police and Cook County sheriff’s officers searched the Des Plaines River Saturday, hoping to find the body of Bryeon Hunter, a 1-year-old boy authorities say was beaten to death by his mother and her boyfriend.
Earlier this month, prosecutors said Hunter’s mother, 22, admitted beating the boy with a belt while her boyfriend, Michael Scott, 21, covered the boy’s mouth with his hand and held him down.
The child ended up on the bathroom floor, “moaning and having difficulty breathing,” prosecutors said. Bryeon’s torso was purple and bruised and he could not move.
Baker is being held without bail. Scott is being held on $750,000 bail.
