It’s a warm and sunny Friday in Chicago, and it’s about to feel even more like spring with temperatures rising into the 70s early next week.
Highs will be in the 60s on Friday, and the forecast for Saturday is mostly sunny with a high around 59. Sunday will also be sunny with a high around 53, according to the National Weather Service.
Accuweather has things even warmer, calling for highs of 66 on Saturay and 68 on Sunday.
But Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, temperatures are expected to hit the 70s.
There is a slight chance of light rain and a few thunderstorms next week, but nothing like the torrential downpours that recently flooded the area, according to Amy Seeley, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Romeoville.
This April is the rainiest on record and much “cooler and wetter than normal,” Seeley said. Normal April temperatures should be in the low 60s, but only a few days have reached the mark.
