An Englewood man pleaded guilty Wednesday in Chicago to a federal charge of being a felon in possession of firearms for selling guns to a government informant.
Levaine Tanksley sold 52 weapons — including an AR-15 assault rifle — to an informant for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in 2012.
An alleged gun supplier, David Lewisbey of South Holland, obtained many of the weapons for Tanksley at gun shows in Indiana, authorities said.
Tanksley is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 15, authorities said. The case against Lewisbey is pending.
